Artist Statement:
Through Coming of Age I explore young adulthood through a series of photographs capturing found family, sentimental landscapes, chronic illness, and small moments of life. I was curious to explore this time in my life as I near 25 through the people, places, and surroundings that feel meaningful in my early adulthood. This collection features friends, lovers, summer skies, self-portraits, and snapshots of daily life. The images chosen for this project reflect a cinematic outlook of my life; a life that mostly consists of quiet time in nature, visits with friends and lovers, doctor’s appointments, morning and evening routines, and trying to find beauty in all places.

Getting ready: A woman leaning over a bathroom sink. She is wearing jeans and a pink bra. The bathroom sink is cluttered with bottles, brushes, and makeup supplies.
Laundromat: A laundromat at night. Everything is dark except for the lights inside the laundromat that illuminate the washers and dryers inside.
Dylan: A man walking outside. Everything is dark except him. He is wearing a red and orange shirt and has his hair tied up.
Rhiannon: A woman sitting outside on a porch at dusk. She looks at something off camera and smiles. She has blonde hair and is wearing a white sweatshirt.
J&R: Two lovers at dusk. The woman is wearing a light t-shirt and denim overalls and has a bright green clip holding her blonde hair up. From a couple steps up, she braces her arms on the shoulders of her lover. The man is wearing a motorcycle jacket and has his long dark hair pulled back. He softly gazes up at her.
